Christina Bennett

DIRECTOR

From a young age, dance has been a passion for Christina. Whilst working her way through Jazz, Tap, and Classical Ballet examinations, Christina taught students of all ages at Desalyne School of Dance in Adelaide led by C.S.T.D State Organiser Des Wyatt. Developing her choreography and teaching the C.S.T.D Exam syllabus, she also travelled interstate to work with some of Australia’s most highly respected choreographers and examiners.

In 1993, at age 16, Christina was accepted into the Centre for Performing Arts (now Adelaide Centre for the Arts), where she studied dance full time. Also studying acting from 1997-2000 at SA Casting, she worked as a movement teacher there for over 10 years. Since then, she has continued to develop her skills as a professional dancer and teacher all over Adelaide.

In 1996, Christina began working professionally as a dancer in Adelaide. Her work as a freestyle dancer at nightclubs and music festivals led her to Heaven nightclub (formally “HQ”) where she became Dance Coordinator. During her eight years at Heaven she was privileged to dance alongside some of the world’s best DJs and performers including DJs Groove Terminator (GT) Darude, Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, The Warp Bros, 4 Strings and Sasha and backup dancing for artists such as Delta Goodrem and Sophie Monk to name but a few.

Christina has produced hundreds of shows and performances throughout her 29 years as a professional dancer and choreographer, including corporate and sporting events, activations, celebrations, parties, wedding dances, flash mobs and large scale dance productions for Hyperdance mid year and end of year shows.
